About the Course

Orthopedic Nursing

Orthopedics nursing specializes in the prevention and treatment of diseases and traumatic disorders of the bones and joints.

This module should extend your existing nursing knowledge by looking at the effects of illness, both acute and chronic, differentiate the degree of musculoskeletal dysfunction within the scope of trauma, and emphasize assessment and management strategies in both pediatric and adult patients.

The student will analyze the impact of both acute and chronic illness, outline the range of musculoskeletal disorders related to trauma, and concentrate on adult and child patient management and care. The aims and objectives of this course will be achieved by the use of a virtual classroom through the application of case studies, multimedia, and discussion forums.

The program is designed for registered nurses working in various health facilities or those intending to shift to education or community health. The course “Integrating Theory and Evidence into Practice” aims to achieve excellence in practice by providing nursing care through the integration of theoretical knowledge, evidence-based practice, and practical nursing.

This program also allows one to obtain a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing or pursue a Master of Nursing degree.
