About the Course

Emergency Nursing
This course is meant to equip you to plan for the emergency nursing care needs of the patient. Emergency nursing requires knowledge, skills and self-efficacy for successful patient care.

The course encourages nurses to expand their scope of practice with critical care nursing focusing on the assessment and nursing management of patients who are critically ill in an acute care setting. The theory of emergency nursing care will be actualized and integrated into nursing practice with the use of clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based specialized nursing knowledge.

The course is conducted fully online and has a component that requires two days per week of work in an emergency area with a supervisor for practice purposes.

The Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing also acts as a pathway for those looking at completing a Master of Nursing in Australia on campus or through online studies.
