Acute Care Nursing
This course aims to enhance the patient care delivered by transforming students into global citizens through the integration of nursing science with clinical practice and skills.

About the Course
Acute Care Nursing
This course aims to equip nurses with skills to manage patients diagnosed with a life-threatening but short-term condition that requires the nurses to expand their scope of practice.
The program is geared towards assisting in the management of an ever-growing population of patients with complex multi-system diseases requiring advanced level nursing care in an acute care environment.
This course is delivered online, but during the course of the program, students are expected to work in a supervised critical care area for a minimum of two days per
week.
This is meant to simulate real-world situations they will face in their careers in nursing. The Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing – Acute Care Nursing ensures that you build on your existing nursing professional knowledge to develop appropriate strategies and abilities relevant to acute care nursing. You will be able to apply the strategies while attending to patients with confidence.
The acute care specialty component of the Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing and acute care nursing also functions as a pathway for students wishing to undertake a Master of Nursing in Australia, either in a face-to-face or distance education mode.

During this course...
Students will Learn how to:
Make use of critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and communication skills in the assessment and supervision of nursing care provided to patients in an acute care healthcare team.
Supervise a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure outstanding therapy for patients in an acute care environment.
Develop an analysis on the legal, ethical, social, cultural, and political determinants of person-centered health care and their impact.
